SITES OF DECLINE IMAGE SUBMISSION
design charette

Since the destinies of sites in decline are as equally dependent on the economic climate as the destinies of architectural professionals, this designer proposes that sites of decline be used as shelters for the most recent generation of unemployed young designers. The shelters are to be constructed from the only materials freely available to them, including
old architecture supplies, and generously donated refuse from the homes and yachts of the “One Percent”. Inhabitants will be required to prove their statuses as unemployed designers and, once accepted, prove that they are actively searching for employment.
These “designer” favellas will serve as the perfect environments for young designers to both search for employment and ponder the true innate “power” of the architect.
